Her Interview
Ten minutes with Aliyah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to God's guidance. My journey into technology wasn't something I planned—it was a path He placed before me, and I'm grateful every day for where it has led. I'm also thankful for the mentors and peers who challenged me, encouraged me, and helped me grow into the professional I am today.
One of my proudest accomplishments was earning my master's degree while collaborating with the Air Force Research Laboratory, an experience that strengthened my confidence and showed me the importance of perseverance. Those experiences continue to remind me that growth happens when you're willing to embrace new opportunities, trust the process, and keep learning.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Know that you're not alone. There are a lot of women in computer science. Don't feel like you're alone. Don't be afraid to find a niche and to have a niche. Don't be afraid to switch nations if you want to.
