Her Story
About Allison
I've been in my field for 25 years, working across different industries in marketing capacities. I'm currently the Chief Communications Officer and Marketing Officer at Filippatos Law Firm, a position I've held for 2 months. In this role, I handle communications and marketing, and I'm focused on building out our brand and getting more leads, opportunities, and clients for our employment law firm. Before this, I spent about 3 years at a large law firm working in marketing and business development initiatives, and prior to that, I worked at an investment bank for about 6 years in a marketing and field development role. My most notable professional achievement is becoming CMO of Filippatos Law Firm. What has really shaped my journey is all of the different industries that I've worked in and all of the wonderful leaders and colleagues that I've had the opportunity to work with and learn from. I've always been a really outgoing, bubbly person with a creative, exciting kind of personality, and I thought marketing would be a great field to get into when I was in college because it would be a good way for me to showcase and use my outgoing personality and networking skills, always bringing people together into my everyday role and career.

Ten minutes with Allison
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to just working hard and staying connected to the contacts that I'm associated with, and you know, just keeping those connections going. I'm a really big networker. I'm active on social media, and I'm active in my community. I have lots of friends and family that I really just try to stay connected to, and I feel that all of that has attributed to my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I would say just learn from your mistakes. Stay positive. Just, you know, trying to manage that work-life balance, because it's very important to, you know, work hard and get your career off and running, but it's also super important to be present at home. So, just keeping that work-life balance in mind is always, you know, key to success at work and at home with the family.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Some challenges I face are dealing with different personalities and different management styles. But you just, you know, you try to adapt to those management styles and personalities, and just kind of work through different scenarios and best-case outcomes, and just keep plugging through and trying to get to your main goal. You know, just working hard to accomplish your goal, and you know, try to put those other complicated personalities or difficult management styles, like, you know, you just try to work through all of that, and stay patient. As for opportunities, I just think that there's every day is an opportunity, you know, you can meet someone new, just through all the networking, and, you know, I like to attend conferences and different networking events throughout the years so that I could stay connected and meet with new people, and I think just meeting with new people and building that network and staying connected and building out your network helps you open the door to new opportunities. There's always room to grow.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Values that are really important to me at work, I really value building trust and building a network of people that, you know, that I'd like to stay close to throughout my career. Because building that network and building trust just helps open up new opportunities and it helps build your experience and stay connected in the field that you're in.
