What do you attribute your success to?
Positive mentorships, a strong network, and meaningful relationships throughout my career.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If I were advising young women entering this industry, I would encourage them to focus on personal growth beyond traditional clinical roles. Seeking mentorship and remaining open to feedback are invaluable for professional development. I’ve found that many nurses explore multiple career paths before discovering the role that truly resonates with them.
I also draw inspiration from Brené Brown’s approach of maintaining a “strong back, soft heart, curious mind.” Staying resilient, compassionate, and inquisitive has guided me throughout my career and continues to shape how I navigate challenges and opportunities in this field.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life center around connection, diversity, and inclusivity. I strive to foster environments where team members feel respected and valued, and I prioritize assuming good intent in my interactions with colleagues. Open and honest communication is essential to building trust, nurturing collaboration, and creating a culture where everyone can thrive.
