New York, NY 10012

Ally Hirsh is a Sales Planning Manager at Kering Beauté Americas, where she works closely with major retail partners including Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, and Bergdorf Goodman to support the growth of luxury fragrance brands such as Creed, Bottega Veneta, and Balenciaga. With a strong background in corporate retail and brand strategy, she plays a key role in aligning sales initiatives with retail partners while helping expand the reach of globally recognized beauty brands. Her work sits at the intersection of retail analytics, brand development, and luxury consumer experience.

Ally began her career in retail through Bloomingdale’s competitive buying internship program while studying marketing at Washington University in St. Louis’ Olin Business School. After graduating, she joined the company full-time as an Assistant Buyer in women’s shoes. When the pandemic disrupted the retail landscape, Ally successfully pivoted from the buying side of retail to the brand side, leveraging her experience with merchandising and retail partnerships to transition into fragrance sales planning. Since joining Kering Beauté, she has grown within the organization and now helps drive strategy and collaboration between luxury brands and some of the industry’s most influential retailers.

Outside of her professional work, Ally remains active in creative and philanthropic pursuits. A lifelong dancer, she continues to take dance classes in New York City and enjoys staying active through yoga and Pilates. She is also an avid reader and passionate supporter of charitable causes. Ally serves on the Junior Board of the THANC Foundation (Thyroid, Head and Neck Cancer Foundation), where she helps organize fundraising events and community initiatives inspired by her father’s personal experience with thyroid cancer. Guided by a strong internal drive and a supportive family foundation, Ally is committed to continuous learning, professional growth, and making a meaningful impact both within and beyond the beauty industry.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I think I've always had somewhat of an internal drive, where I just always want to be the best version of myself that I can. I also think my family, when I was growing up, definitely always encouraged me to go out and do whatever I wanted. There was never concerns about what my parents wanted for me in terms of career. It was very much, whatever's gonna make you happy is what's gonna make you most successful in the end.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

What I did when I was in college was look up people on LinkedIn and see what career paths they took, and how they got to the companies they eventually were working at. That's how I found the Bloomingdale's internship. I saw that a lot of people started there, so I think finding a role model whose career path you can sort of copy can help you design your own path and end up where you want to be. And asking as many questions as possible along the way, because I think, especially when you're young and don't have that much experience yet, all people really want to see is willingness and that hunger for growth and learning.
