01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to the exceptional foundation I received during my years with Johnson & Johnson, where I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best sales leaders in the industry. That experience taught me the importance of discipline, relationship-building, strategic thinking, and truly understanding the people you serve.
Transitioning from medical device sales into senior living allowed me to combine those skills with something much more personal — a genuine passion for helping others. Having a mother in her 80s living with Alzheimer’s has given me firsthand insight into the emotional challenges families face when navigating senior care decisions. That perspective has shaped the way I lead, communicate, and support families every day.
I believe my success comes from leading with empathy, authenticity, and purpose. Families can feel when someone truly cares, and I approach every interaction with the mindset of treating residents and their loved ones the same way I would want my own family treated.
To me, success is not simply about sales performance — it’s about building trust, educating families, creating meaningful relationships, and helping people find solutions that enhance their quality of life during some of life’s most important transitions.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received was simple: If you don't believe in what you're selling, you'll never reach your full potential.
Early in my career at Johnson & Johnson, I learned that the most successful salespeople aren't focused on making a sale—they're focused on solving problems and improving people's lives. That lesson has stayed with me throughout my career in both medical devices and senior living.
I genuinely believe in the value of what we provide. When families meet with me, my goal isn't to convince them of anything; it's to educate them, understand their needs, and help them make the best decision for their unique situation. Whether they choose my community or not, I want them to leave feeling informed and supported.
When you're passionate about your work and truly believe in the impact it has on others, it stops feeling like a job and starts feeling like a purpose. That authenticity builds trust, and trust is the foundation of every successful career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice would be to seek out mentors and learn from those who have achieved the level of success you aspire to reach. Be curious, ask questions, and never stop investing in your own growth and education. Some of the most valuable lessons in my career have come from surrounding myself with experienced professionals who were willing to share their knowledge and perspective.
Build a strong network, develop meaningful relationships, and align yourself with people who lead with integrity and put others first. Success is rarely achieved alone, and the right mentors and colleagues can accelerate both your professional and personal growth.
Most importantly, be passionate about what you do. In senior living, families are making some of the most important decisions of their lives. When you genuinely care about helping others, your authenticity shines through. Lead with compassion, stay committed to continuous learning, and always remember that the impact you make on people is far more important than any sales number.
This industry offers the opportunity to change lives every day—and that's both a privilege and a responsibility.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and greatest opportunities—in senior living today is education. There are still many misconceptions about what modern senior living actually is. Many people assume it's the same as a nursing home, when in reality today's communities offer vibrant, engaging lifestyles, personalized care, and opportunities for residents to maintain their independence while receiving support as their needs evolve.
Another challenge is helping families understand the differences between ownership and operating models. Not all senior living communities are structured the same way, and those differences can significantly impact the resident experience, quality of care, staffing, and long-term stability. Families deserve to have a clear understanding of these distinctions when making such an important decision.
The opportunity lies in continuing to educate families, healthcare professionals, and the broader community. I believe the more informed people are, the better decisions they can make for themselves and their loved ones. Helping families shift their perception of senior living—from a last resort to a proactive lifestyle choice—is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work and an area where our industry can continue to make a meaningful impact.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, integrity, compassion, and service are the values that guide both my personal and professional life. My faith is the foundation that keeps me grounded through life's challenges and reminds me to approach every situation with humility, gratitude, and purpose.
I believe in treating people with kindness, respect, and empathy, whether I'm working with families navigating difficult decisions, supporting colleagues, or spending time with loved ones. Integrity is especially important to me—I believe trust is earned through honesty, consistency, and always doing what's right, even when it's not the easiest path.
In senior living, I have the privilege of serving families during some of the most important moments of their lives. That responsibility is something I take seriously, and it reinforces my commitment to leading with compassion and putting people first. At the end of the day, I want to be known not only for what I accomplished, but for the positive impact I had on the lives of others.
