Ten minutes with Alma
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having the courage and bravery to step into the unknown and being willing to step outside my comfort zone. I believe in constantly learning and remaining genuinely curious about people and the world around me. Every experience I have had in leadership, international affairs, advocacy, and the legal field has taught me something different and contributed to my growth.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering my field to communicate more and not be afraid to ask for help. It is important to look within yourself and understand what you are truly aiming for rather than simply following expectations.
I would also encourage people not to pursue a career solely because of money or family history. Instead, find something you can genuinely be passionate about and something where you feel you can help others. Understanding what motivates you and what kind of contribution you want to make can provide meaningful direction throughout your career.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Personal passion and curiosity about the world are very important to me. I enjoy exploring different areas, developing new interests, and continuing to learn as those interests evolve.
I also value listening to the people around me and being open to guidance. I appreciate learning from my fiancé and coworkers and using their perspectives to help me grow and make thoughtful decisions.
