Ten minutes with Alondra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my upbringing, the values instilled in me by my family, and my commitment to staying humble while continuing to grow. My family has been a constant source of support and perspective, reminding me of the importance of hard work, integrity, and treating others with respect. I have also been fortunate to build a career in a field I am passionate about, visual merchandising, where I enjoy creating impactful experiences and helping clients achieve their goals. My dedication to understanding client needs, developing creative solutions, and delivering meaningful results has been a key part of my professional success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to lead with empathy and always recognize the contributions of others. Understanding people, listening to their perspectives, and approaching situations with compassion creates stronger relationships and more effective teams. I believe in the importance of praising and celebrating associates for their hard work and dedication, as recognition not only builds confidence but also inspires people to continue bringing their best to their roles. Great leadership is about empowering others and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to surround themselves with positive, supportive people who encourage their growth and believe in their potential. Building a strong professional network and finding a mentor can provide valuable guidance, perspective, and opportunities throughout their careers. I encourage women to remain open to learning, seek out relationships with those who inspire them, and never hesitate to advocate for themselves and their goals. A strong support system can make a meaningful difference in building confidence and achieving long-term success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is navigating the impact of the economy. Changing market conditions require businesses to remain adaptable, strategic, and focused on delivering value while managing evolving client needs. At the same time, these challenges create opportunities to innovate, strengthen relationships, and find creative solutions that help clients achieve their goals. Staying informed, flexible, and customer-focused is essential for continued success in today’s environment.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are respect, empathy, and being present. I believe in treating everyone with kindness and understanding, taking the time to listen, and recognizing that each person has their own experiences and perspectives. Being present allows me to build stronger relationships, support those around me, and make meaningful connections. These values guide the way I lead, collaborate with others, and approach both professional and personal interactions.
