Her Story

About Alora

I’ve been in sales for more than 20 years, and my career really started from the ground up. I began working in production, print, and customer service before eventually being promoted into sales. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University, which led me into the manufacturing industry.

Today, I serve as an Account Executive for Tension Corporation, managing an approximately $18 million territory across multiple states. My expertise is in envelope and print manufacturing, with a focus on relationship management, strategic growth, and helping customers solve complex challenges.

In my role, I manage my own territory and schedule, balancing existing client relationships with new business development. Day to day, that includes negotiating contracts, coordinating production schedules, communicating with customers, and meeting with client and new prospects. I am responsible for one of the company’s largest accounts.

What I’m most proud of is being a problem solver for my clients. Whether it’s a production issue, a tight deadline, or an urgent operational need, I enjoy finding solutions that help customers succeed and keep their businesses moving forward.

I maintain my certification as a Postal Partner through the Envelope Manufacturers Association, which requires ongoing knowledge of postal regulations and recertification every two years. I’ve also been actively involved with the Postal Customer Council for many years, including serving on the board. In addition, I’ve completed Miller Heiman sales training and regularly attend industry conferences such as the National Postal Forum to stay current on trends and best practices in the industry.

Ten minutes with Alora

01What do you attribute your success to?

I really attribute my success to the relationships I’ve built over the years. I focus on creating strong, lasting partnerships with my clients by making them feel comfortable, supported, and confident that they can trust me. My clients know that when they ask me to handle something, I will follow through, communicate consistently, and make sure it gets done.

Trust, relationship building, and communication are the qualities I take the most pride in, and they’ve been the foundation of my growth throughout my career. I’ve gone from managing a handful of accounts early on to overseeing more than $18 million in annual sales today, while continuing to grow my territory and client base.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage them to believe in themselves and trust that things will work out. I have three daughters in college who are in that stage of wondering what the future holds and trying to figure out their path, and I always remind them to have confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Even when you can’t clearly see the end goal or know exactly where your path will lead, trust that your hard work and perseverance will guide you in the right direction. Focus on doing your best every day, putting in the effort, and recognizing your own value. When you believe in yourself, others will believe in you too.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges right now is the ongoing cost increases impacting the mailing industry, including postage, raw materials, and fuel costs. These rising expenses are causing many companies to reevaluate their print and mail strategies. In some cases, organizations that may have traditionally relied on direct mail campaigns are scaling back their efforts or shifting toward paperless alternatives.

The current environment surrounding postage rates and raw material costs continues to create uncertainty across the industry, making cost management and strategic planning more important than ever.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My faith is very important to me, and I give God the glory for the opportunities and blessings in my life. Beyond that, I believe trust and integrity are essential — being someone others can depend on and count on consistently. I strive to lead by example, both for my coworkers and my family, and to live in a way that reflects the strong faith-based foundation that guides my life.

I also place a high value on helping others. Whether it’s supporting my clients, serving through volunteer work, or giving back to the community, I find a great deal of fulfillment in making a positive impact. Helping people and contributing to something bigger than myself is one of the things that brings me the most joy.
