Her Interview
Ten minutes with alpa
01What do you attribute your success to?
My parents and especially my husband who was very supportive when we moved here from India, leaving his job just for me so I could continue my professional journey.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Have patience. It's not an industry which is very exciting when you look at it from outside, but once you stick with it and spend some years, you'll see a lot of opportunities. In the long term it will give you a lot of benefits and it's very stable, never suffering from recession.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The AI boom is both a challenge and opportunity - everyone is rushing to integrate AI without proper planning, running like headless chickens. Opportunities include new insurance concepts like usage-based policies (e.g., Lemonade insurance for short periods).
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Transparency is key because it gives teams confidence and builds trust in the organization structure - how transparent the company, clients, managers, and team are with each other. Also mutual respect and openness to share thoughts and feelings, allowing people to speak up openly.
