With over a decade of experience in healthcare and clinical research, Alysha Lance has built a career grounded in compassion, precision, and progress. Currently serving as Clinical Research Coordinator and Site Lead at DOCS Dermatology, Alysha leads dermatology-focused clinical trials that blend patient-centered care with scientific innovation. In this role, she oversees every aspect of research operations—from regulatory compliance and study start-up to patient recruitment and data integrity—while serving as a trusted liaison between sponsors, CROs, and clinical teams. Her certification as a Dermatology Tech allows her to actively assist with both clinical and cosmetic procedures, reflecting her hands-on approach and dedication to patient outcomes.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my willingness to step outside my comfort zone and continuously challenge myself to grow. My passion for learning and helping others, along with my desire to set an example for my daughters, has driven me to pursue new opportunities and excel in every role I’ve taken on. One of my proudest accomplishments was enrolling the highest number of patients in a national gout study, earning company-wide recognition. I’m also deeply proud to have contributed to a blood marker study that replaced invasive procedures like colonoscopies — and to later see that test being used in real-world clinics to improve patient care.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay true to yourself, stay curious, and never be afraid to take bold steps — real growth happens when you push beyond your comfort zone. Outside of work, I stay busy cheering on my daughters in their sports and arts activities, and I love being involved in their world.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field has been transitioning from an eight-year hospital role into the world of clinical research, where I had to learn everything from the ground up while adapting to a more regulatory and compliance-focused environment. At the same time, balancing my career growth with motherhood and a busy family life has pushed me to become even more organized, resilient, and intentional about my goals.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are growth, perseverance, and authenticity. My daughters inspire me to keep learning, take risks, and make a meaningful impact — both in my work and in showing them that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself and pursue what matters.
