Alyson Colin
Alyson Colin is a chromatography specialist and Sales Account Manager at Sorbent Technologies, where she supports academic and industrial laboratories across the West Coast. She collaborates with researchers to streamline workflows, optimize purification processes, and select the right chromatography tools—from HPLC columns and TLC plates to flash cartridges and silica gels. With a strong background in analytical chemistry and hands-on expertise in techniques such as HPLC, ELISA, and microbiological testing, Alyson combines technical knowledge with a consultative, relationship-driven approach.
Before transitioning into sales, Alyson built a diverse scientific career spanning laboratory testing, diagnostics, immunoassay development, and teaching. She contributed to research environments ranging from nutraceuticals to biotech, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity. Her work included developing SOPs, maintaining equipment, supporting COVID-19 diagnostic testing in CLIA-certified labs, and presenting experimental findings with clarity and precision. Alyson also has a strong foundation in science education, having taught chemistry and coached students, where she honed her communication and leadership skills.
Alyson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s Degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Throughout her career, she has been known for her collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and ability to build strong, lasting relationships within the scientific community. Today, she continues to grow as a trusted partner to researchers—combining her passion for science with her talent for connection, problem-solving, and customer support.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the unwavering support and influence of my mom, Marlys Colin. She taught me the importance of perseverance, kindness, and believing in myself, and her example continues to guide me in everything I do.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are family, support, and balance. I cherish spending time with my niece and nephew, who are theater kids, and I also make time for activities like swimming and hiking to stay grounded and energized.
