About Alyssa

Alyssa Angulo serves as Operations Manager at her property management company, where she has worked for the past year after advancing through roles including property manager and senior property manager. With about 10 years in the industry, she focuses on supporting teams with daily operations, driving process improvements, implementing IT automation, and fostering employee development and growth. Alyssa holds an Arizona real estate license and Certified Property Manager credential while pursuing her broker license. She earned a bachelor's degree in human service management and an associate's degree in human service. A member of the National Association of Realtors, she has received awards including Team Player, Employee of the Year, and Team Player of the Quarter. Her career path began when she assisted her aunt with rental properties and later transitioned from University of Phoenix to property management to help homeowners and tenants understand their rights. She attributes her success to personal drive and a goal of helping others achieve their career goals. Alyssa has previously volunteered with the Child Crisis Center, hospice, the Juvenile Probation Department, and ICANN.

01What do you attribute your success to?

Personal drive, just a personal goal of mine to make sure that I'm able to help other people achieve their career goals as well.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Have a work-life balance and to be open to feedback and not take the feedback in a personal manner, more of like constructive on a professional level.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Have a thick skin. Be open to change and new technology and feedback. Some days are harder than others, some days are easy, some days are really tough. You can't please everybody.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Working for somebody else so you have to have clear expectations, clear communication, and just being honest with the situation. Give the right guidance and provide constructive feedback without making them feel like they're not capable.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

To be a good person and make good decisions.
