Her Story

About Alyssa

Alyssa Bradley has spent seven and a half years in land acquisition, beginning her career in the Permian Basin as a land technician after being introduced to the role. She worked her way up through hands-on experience, acquiring land and easements for infrastructure projects while employed at an engineering and design firm in Denver, Colorado, after relocating from West Texas. Now back in Midland, Texas, she continues in the same title and position but has transitioned within the industry to focus on civil and infrastructure work, including data center projects nationwide, where she handles research, outreach to landowners, negotiations, and deal-making. As a fourth-generation oil and gas professional whose father was a prominent figure in the Midland-Odessa area, she attributes her early drive to proving herself in a male-dominated field and now emphasizes her independence and enjoyment of her current role. She is a member of Young Professionals of Denver, Colorado, Professionals of Midland, and the Permian Landman group, and received an award in 2023.

01What do you attribute your success to?

What attributes to my success has changed over the years. In the beginning I felt like I kind of had something to prove, being fourth generation oil and gas, my dad being who he was, I felt like I had to overperform all the men around me. And now, I would say my drive is really my independence. I think now it's my independence, not ever feeling just always being safe and secure that I can take care of myself. I think that's very important for me, just that I am setting I'm living on my own terms. But yeah, I think it's less I think in the beginning, it was very much kind of this boss babe mentality, and I think like I said before, times are changing where that's not as pushed. And so I think it's just enjoying less competition, and really just enjoying where I'm at, and when I'm done, and not constantly feeling the pressure of moving up or overexpelling everyone, but just enjoying where I'm at.
