What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to viewing education as a calling, starting as a classroom teacher and instructional leader, which gave me firsthand insight into the challenges and joys of teaching. Over the past three years with Marzano Resources, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating across 18 states to design and deliver professional learning that drives measurable growth. Working with Dr. Robert Marzano and innovative school leaders has shaped my approach, and recognitions like Rookie of the Year and the Core Value Award remind me that leadership is about consistency, curiosity, and care.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the field is to stay teachable and embrace growth, especially in uncomfortable spaces. Seek out mentors who challenge your thinking, be willing to learn as much as possible, and actively seek feedback. I also recommend sharing not just your ideas, but the thought process behind them—explaining how you arrived at a solution. Doing this develops strategic thinking, builds credibility, and, as I’ve seen, can even influence leadership practices in positive ways.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in education today is addressing funding gaps, teacher shortages, and the increasing demand for meaningful professional support. At the same time, these challenges present opportunities to innovate, strengthen educator development, and create scalable solutions that truly improve outcomes for students and schools.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are purpose, growth, integrity, and authenticity. I believe every decision should be rooted in “why,” ensuring that my actions align with the mission of improving student learning and empowering educators. I’m committed to continuous growth—seeking feedback, challenging my assumptions, and expanding my skills—while staying consistent, genuine, and passionate in everything I do.
