What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the values instilled in me during my childhood, where I was taught the importance of perseverance, determination, and believing in my ability to achieve anything I set my mind to. Those lessons shaped my mindset early on and continue to drive my professional growth today. I approach challenges as opportunities to learn and improve, and I remain committed to continuously climbing higher, setting new goals, and pushing myself to reach the next level of success.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is that it will likely get more difficult before it gets easier, but perseverance is essential. I encourage you to stay focused on your goals, remain confident in your abilities, and push through challenging moments because growth often happens outside of your comfort zone. Build strong relationships, ask questions, seek mentors, and never underestimate the value of continuous learning and self-improvement. Maintain professionalism, take pride in your work, and remember that your effort, resilience, and attitude will ultimately help you stand out and advance in your career.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges right now are the new delivery methods, such as DoorDash and Uber Eats. They're affecting how our operations go. I think about one fourth of our sales are from those third-party companies handling things, so we had to adjust how we operate based off of that with a mobile drinks area and closing the back bags, which affects the finances. But that's also the biggest area of opportunity right now, I'd say, to continue that and find better ways to improve that experience for all the drivers. We offer free beverages whenever they come in just to make sure that they're not thirsty or anything.
