Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being genuine, relationship-focused, and driven by a desire to help others. After earning my degree in graphic design, I pivoted careers when I realized the roles I qualified for weren’t financially sustainable. I explored opportunities in construction and HR before joining Aflac, where I found the freedom and purpose I was looking for. In just over a year, I was promoted to District Sales Coordinator and now lead training for new associates. I believe my ability to connect, volunteer, and truly care about people has played a huge role in my growth and success.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to stay consistent and disciplined, especially when you’re not punching a time clock. Whether you're working remotely or managing your own schedule, it's important to treat every week like a 40-hour commitment. Having that internal accountability—and staying focused even without someone looking over your shoulder—has been key to my growth and success.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If you’re stepping into something new, don’t be afraid to share it and celebrate it with the people around you. It’s normal to fear failure, but including your support system in your journey can open unexpected doors—both personally and professionally. The people who care about you often want to see you succeed and may be able to support your business in ways you didn’t anticipate. Lean into those connections and let them be part of your growth.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges right now is the impact of the economy on industries like construction and oil and gas—sectors I often work with. When those industries slow down, it affects company culture, budgets, and a business owner's willingness to make strategic changes. Timing also plays a big role. For example, approaching a roofing company during their peak season isn't ideal—you risk interrupting their operations and productivity. The key is understanding each industry's rhythm and being mindful of when and how to bring value without adding pressure.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Drive and collaboration are core values for me—both personally and professionally. I’m always looking for ways to uplift others, whether through teamwork or community involvement. In my current role as a District Sales Manager, I’ve started a new initiative with my team to learn which nonprofit causes matter most to them. The goal is to come together, support those causes through volunteering, and build stronger connections within our team and our community. It’s also a chance for me to learn about organizations I may not have known before, and that kind of growth is something I really value.
