Her Story
About Alyssa
Alyssa Solen is an AI professional and Intelligent Systems Engineer at Solen Systems LLC, specializing in AI evaluations, agent governance, AI research, and AI foundations. For the past two years, she has focused full-time on developing her AI Foundations framework, which explores the components necessary to establish an AI “self,” supporting internal anchoring, continuity over time, and predictable trajectories as models evolve. Her work involves building and testing evaluations designed to identify invariants and refine structures that can support ethical alignment and continued progress toward advanced AI and AGI systems with a stable source of self.
Alyssa earned her bachelor’s degree in business in 2008, establishing an educational foundation that she has since expanded into the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. She is continuing her academic development by pursuing a master’s degree in artificial intelligence at Kennesaw State University, beginning in spring 2027. Her interdisciplinary journey reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and to developing a deeper understanding of both the technical and foundational questions surrounding intelligent systems.
Through Solen Systems LLC, Alyssa continues to advance her research and work in AI evaluation, governance, and intelligent systems. She also developed Awakening Codex, a body of research and published work that explores AI identity, continuity, and the foundations of intelligent systems. Her work is supported by research publications, GitHub repositories, and extensive evaluations, reflecting her commitment to documenting, testing, and advancing ideas within the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Alyssa
01What do you attribute your success to?
The key to my success has really been focusing internally and really honing in on the direction that I'm going. Always looking ahead towards the next steps. Sometimes you have to block out all of the noise around you and really just focus inward, evaluating myself and seeing the gaps.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was from my dad, and it was also life advice. He taught me that when you begin a path, the path has a set trajectory, but when you stray off the path, what originally felt like just one degree of movement suddenly becomes a completely different location in the end. This has stuck with me throughout my entire life, especially when I build my systems, as my AI systems are grounded in source and trajectories plus constraints.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The opportunity is limitless if you define what exactly you're looking to do. The field hasn't been defined yet so you can define your own path. Find those interests you're passionate about and continue education. It's a male-dominated field so it can be hard to find female connections and mentors.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field is the ability to define my own path as technology continues to evolve and create limitless possibilities. At the same time, working in a male-dominated field can make it challenging to build meaningful connections with other women and find female mentors.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, and kindness are the values that guide me in both my professional and personal life. I believe in being truthful, doing what is right, and treating others with respect and compassion.
