Alyssa Vasquez
Alyssa Vasquez is a Senior Quality Engineer at Aerofit LLC, based in Riverside, California, with over 14 years of experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing. ASQ Certified as both a Quality Engineer (CQE) and Quality Process Analyst (CQPA), Alyssa is known for serving as the voice of the customer—ensuring products conform to engineering drawings, contractual requirements, and the highest quality standards. In her current role, she drives robust process control and continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on preventative controls, nonconformance evaluation, and long-term process reliability.
Throughout her career, Alyssa has progressed from an engineering intern to senior leadership roles across some of the industry’s most respected organizations, including GKN Aerospace, VACCO Industries, Aerojet Rocketdyne, Northrop Grumman, and now Aerofit. Her work has supported critical programs spanning commercial aviation, space systems, and defense, including aircraft components for the 737 MAX, Boeing’s Space Launch System (SLS), and submarine platforms. She brings a collaborative, cross-functional approach to quality, grounded in integrity, ethics, and clear communication.
Alyssa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside, where her early exposure to STEM programs helped shape her career path. She is an active member of the American Society for Quality and has been selected as one of the Influential Women representing Riverside, California for 2026. Outside of work, Alyssa is a dedicated mother of two who enjoys learning to play golf, spending time at the driving range, and cheering on her children at soccer games while making the most of family time at home and local activities.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to proudly representing my culture and the unique contributions I bring to my work. I have been fortunate to learn from exceptional mentors who taught me best practices and challenged me to continuously elevate my approach. By applying those best practices, identifying gaps, and confidently using my voice to drive improvement, I have been able to grow both personally and professionally. Above all, the unwavering support of my family has been a constant source of strength and motivation throughout my journey.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from a general manager who reminded me that you will work with many different kinds of people throughout your career. Learning how to relate to others and adapt your communication style is essential to working effectively as a team and collaborating successfully across functions.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering this industry to be intentional about their career choice and make sure it’s truly what they want to pursue. Success comes from putting in the work—when you stay committed and proactive in learning, it shows. Set clear goals, don’t give up when challenges arise, and always focus on the positives, even during difficult moments. Strong cross-functional communication is also essential, especially in engineering and leadership roles, as it enables collaboration, builds influence, and helps drive meaningful results.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field right now is ensuring that everyone understands the importance of the work we do, particularly how each project directly contributes to keeping people safe. Clearly communicating the purpose, impact, and responsibility behind the project is essential for alignment, accountability, and successful outcomes.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are ethics and integrity—always doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. I believe in being approachable and friendly, fostering positive relationships, and communicating effectively. I also take great pride in my work and strive to uphold high standards in everything I do.
