Her Interview

Ten minutes with Alyssa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being disciplined, resilient, and dedicated. Even when you don't feel like doing something, you have to show up and grind every day. As an athlete, putting in the inputs everywhere makes the difference.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received is that perception is reality. Everyone's perception is their reality. With careers being people-oriented, you have to put yourself out there through networking. Talk to people, get interested, research different industries, reach out to people on LinkedIn. Being curious about others in the industry has given me and others a lot of insight.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to be persistent, be curious, don't give up. It's super competitive and a grind, but rewarding. If you're able to push back basic objections and have really technical conversations, anybody can be successful.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity, resilience, being disciplined, always being open-minded and curious are most important. Being curious means always wanting to know more and seek out resources, because you won't get better unless you seek other resources and ask more questions to level up.
