Alyssia Doris
Alyssia Doris is a formulation scientist based in the Miami–Fort Lauderdale area with more than five years of experience in dietary supplement and over-the-counter (OTC) product development. She specializes in gummy formulations, while also working across tablets, capsules, and powdered supplement formats. Currently serving as a Senior Gummy Formulation Scientist at PL Developments, she focuses on bringing products from bench-scale development through full-scale commercialization, ensuring they are manufacturable, stable, and aligned with regulatory and market requirements.
Throughout her career, Alyssia has worked across multiple segments of the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries, including roles in cannabis-based product development, dietary supplements, and skincare innovation. She began in laboratory and production support roles, gradually advancing into research and development positions where she contributed to reformulation work, pilot batches, stability studies, and manufacturing optimization. Her experience includes working at Ion Labs, Eagle Labs, and AltMed FL, where she gained hands-on expertise in process development and scale-up operations for diverse dosage forms.
Alyssia earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida. She is recognized for her strong technical skills in formulation development, good manufacturing practices (GMP), technology transfer, and process optimization. Known for her collaborative approach, she frequently works with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners to improve product quality and efficiency, while also supporting new product launches and production scale-ups across multiple facilities.

I attribute my success to my willingness to continuously learn and grow. I remain open to new ideas and opportunities for ongoing education, which allows me to stay adaptable and improve over time. I also value honesty and transparency in all that I do, and I consistently strive to give my best effort in my work each day.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is not to be intimidated by others and to remain confident in my own perspective. I’ve learned the importance of asking questions and staying curious, as this is essential for continuous growth and understanding. I’ve also been encouraged to make my voice heard, while at the same time striving to be a supportive mentor to others by sharing knowledge and helping them develop professionally.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to embrace mistakes as part of the learning process and use them as opportunities for growth. Keep moving forward even when challenges arise, and stay committed to doing the work consistently and with purpose. Focus on achieving your goals step by step, and once you do, allow yourself to dream even bigger and push beyond what you initially thought was possible.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is expanding outreach to more pharmacies in order to better understand and support their individual needs. Strengthening these connections allows for more tailored solutions, improved service delivery, and ultimately better outcomes for the pharmacies and the communities they serve.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are perseverance, leading by example, and maintaining a strong passion for the pharmacy field. I believe in not allowing anything to stand in the way of achieving my goals, staying focused and resilient even in the face of challenges. I also strive to demonstrate integrity and commitment through my actions, inspiring others by example, while remaining deeply passionate about the work I do in supporting and advancing pharmacy practice.
