I've been in the hospitality and food service industry for about 9 years now. My journey started when I was a senior in high school working as a customer service rep for Pizza Hut. After graduating in 2002, I moved into management in 2003 and stayed with Pizza Hut for 4 years, then managed at Domino's before taking a break to raise my kids. After some time in manufacturing, I realized I missed the dynamic environment of hospitality. I joined Rigsby's as a server bartender and quickly proved myself, moving to front of house manager within a month and AGM by August. I've been with Rigsby's for 4 years now, and my typical day involves coming in to set up the store, creating seating charts, giving prep talks to servers about promotions, putting up truck deliveries, setting up catering events, and working 10-12 hours a day interacting with customers and managing both front and back of house staff. I'm highly thought of throughout the company, and in June I'll be opening and running Rigsby's new taproom location as GM. The taproom will feature all of Rigsby's craft beers, wines, shuffleboard, pool tables, dartboards, and card games where people can enjoy drinks, small bites, and host events. I'm excited to train my staff of 6-7 people and grow the business. Long-term, I want to move into a corporate training coordinator role, traveling to different locations to help train staff and open new stores rather than being tied to one location.
