Her Story
About Amanda
I joined Transamerica Life Company at the end of March after almost 3 years in property and casualty at State Farm. I've been in sales a long time including 10 years managing at Verizon Wireless. My dad passed in 2012 at a young age and our family struggled with funeral costs which is why I'm passionate about helping families prepare. I love connecting with people and being a resource beyond just insurance.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Control the controllables. I overthink things and stress about worst-case scenarios. Someone told me to control what you can with the tools you have now, and if you need something else, you'll find a way. It helped me stop overthinking and stressing.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Learn how to connect, show up, see, listen, and absorb what clients are saying. Have empathy and pay attention. Do your due diligence and get things done in a timely manner. People will give referrals because you're pleasant to talk to.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is talking to people who realize they have no life insurance but aren't ready until health issues like cancer surface. It's hard to convince the younger generation to spend extra money when raising families. I encourage opening their eyes to what would happen to their family.
