What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the strong mentorship I’ve received throughout my career, particularly from inspiring female leaders who have guided and challenged me. I remain committed to staying teachable and receptive to feedback, continually refining my skills and approach. Building genuine relationships with clients and understanding their needs has been central to my work, and I rely on resilience and perseverance to navigate the demands of competitive sales environments while consistently delivering results.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to view constructive criticism as a tool for growth rather than a personal attack. Early in my career, one of my mentors would preface feedback with, “I have a teaching moment for you.” At first, I wasn’t always excited to hear those words, but over time I realized his intention was to help me improve. Embracing this mindset taught me to focus on solutions instead of defensiveness, especially in high-pressure sales roles, and to actively seek out opportunities to learn and grow from feedback.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the IT and sales industry is to focus on learning as much as you can from your peers and mentors. Always remain teachable, learn from your mistakes, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Build thick skin early, stay confident in your abilities, and prioritize relationships - these connections will often open more doors than cold outreach alone. You're going to fail a lot in sales. It's okay! Everyone does. Dust yourself off and learn from every failure.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating a highly competitive sales landscape and securing initial meetings with key decision-makers. At the same time, there are significant opportunities for those who focus on relationship-based selling, as building strong, trusted connections can support long-term career growth. The flexibility inherent in tech sales also allows for a healthy work-life balance, and cultivating a robust professional network can accelerate success across roles and companies.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are integrity and accountability, which ensure I approach every responsibility with honesty and dedication. I prioritize work-life balance, especially as a mother of two young children, while also focusing on personal growth, faith, and serving others. Building meaningful, long-term relationships is central to how I connect with clients, colleagues, and my community, creating a foundation of trust and mutual support.
