About Amanda
Amanda Beltran serves as a Fraud Specialist at Wells Fargo, a role she began in June. With experience in the banking industry dating back to 2018, she started on the teller side before moving into sales and then a call center position in 2022, where she handled debit card transactions and fraud claims. In her current position, Beltran investigates suspicious transactions to identify fraud or scams, including cases of potential elder abuse, ensuring customers are protected. She takes pride in connecting with customers and helping turn challenging interactions into positive outcomes. Beltran aims to advance within the fraud department, where she feels she is making a meaningful difference in customers' financial security. Her advice to young women entering the field is to not overlook opportunities and to avoid taking things personally, while noting that dealing with irate customers remains a key challenge.

Ten minutes with Amanda
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Honestly, don't oversee it, and do not take anything personal.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges, honestly, it's been very different now, but as far as challenges, I would say it's just dealing with the customer sometimes, because like, like I said, like, it is kind of stressful. Sometimes, and it can be overwhelming, especially with, irate customers that are obviously just taking everything out on you, even though it wasn't your fault.
