Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amanda
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from my four kids as a single mom. They provide the motivation to keep pushing forward and achieving my goals every day.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't get discouraged by bad days or negative people who don't want to see you shine. Don't take it personal, remain positive, and always show up for yourself because at the end of the day you have to be there for yourself.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is the lack of cohesive training and emotional intelligence development across organizations, especially for long-term supervisors who need to be more open-minded about different approaches and understand younger employees' perspectives.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Connections and people are most important. Building professional connections that turn into friendships, having each other's backs, sympathizing, compromising to get to yes with less complications, and coming together as a team whether at work or in family.
