Amanda Brooks

I am a financial operations leader in collegiate athletics, currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at the Southland Conference, a role I have held since February 2026, where I oversee financial strategy, budgeting, and compliance for the conference. I also serve as Senior Associate Commissioner of Business Operations, a position I have held since December 2024, where I lead business operations and financial planning to support the conference's mission and strategic goals.

Prior to my current roles, I served as Associate Athletic Director of Business Operations at the University of North Texas for nearly one year, where I managed athletic department finances and business operations. Before that, I served as Athletics Accountant at Texas Christian University for over a year and a half, and as Assistant Athletic Director for Financial Operations at Texas A&M University-Kingsville for over a year. I began my career in collegiate athletics as a Business Operations Assistant at the Southland Conference, where I served for nearly two years.

I hold a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health from The University of Texas at Austin.

Across my career in athletic financial operations, my work has been driven by a commitment to fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, and supporting the mission of collegiate athletics. Whether I am leading financial strategy at the conference level, managing athletic department budgets, or ensuring compliance with financial regulations, I bring a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative approach, and a dedication to excellence that supports the success of student-athletes and institutions alike. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue serving the collegiate athletics community in my leadership roles at the Southland Conference.
