The dedication and oath we take as nurses for lifelong learning. I want to be a good role model to my children. My husband and I have 3 daughters.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Explore the opportunities in nursing. Empowering themselves and each other that they can reach their goals. If you want a seat at the table, you often have to make that, you have to pull out that chair for yourself through education.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges: Social media portraying nursing in a way that hinders the real reason people get into nursing, focusing on monetary gain instead of selfless care. Need positive influence. Legislation impacting testing, environments, ratios. Opportunities: Become a positive influence promoting the profession truthfully on social media.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Accountability to the mission and to family, showing positive family values like eating dinner at the table. Stewardship to the profession and family. Integrity, being truthful and selfless.
