Ten minutes with Amanda
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is not to underestimate myself. We all experience moments of self-doubt or imposter syndrome, but it’s important to recognize and trust our own value, skills, and contributions.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is not to underestimate themselves. You don’t have to know everything—be willing to ask questions, learn, and grow. Surround yourself with people who encourage growth, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and embrace new opportunities.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is overcoming misconceptions about claims management and the role of nurses. People may see us primarily as part of the insurance process, when our goal is to support them and advocate for their needs. Building trust and helping others understand that we genuinely care is an important part of what I do.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family comes first for me, along with maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As a mother, I want to set a strong example for my daughter by showing her that women can build meaningful careers while being strong, independent, compassionate, and present. I value being able to balance my professional and personal responsibilities while staying true to what matters most.
