About Amanda
Amanda Hall is a customer service representative at UTLX Manufacturing, a rail equipment facility in Newton Falls, Ohio, where she has worked since April 2017. In addition to her primary title she handles accounting, purchasing, and inventory management, making her the sole woman at the plant. She began her career with basic administrative skills gained right after high school and has grown within the company through dedication and continuous learning. Hall values teamwork and ethical decision-making, aspiring to move into a managerial role to mentor others. Outside of work she supports local animal rescue efforts and fundraisers for the fire department, where her father served as a former lieutenant.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell her to be strong in her values and her morals. Always stand true to her ethics. And always do what's best for the company, and not for herself. Teamwork makes the dream work. Embrace being a woman in this field, work hard, learn, continue to learn. Don't fall into the stereotypical woman role like secretary or receptionist. Work hard and you are able to climb just as high as anyone else can.
