Her Story

About Amanda

Amanda Jeske is a Crimes Against Persons detective with 9 years of experience in law enforcement. She has held this position for 2 years, managing caseloads of 10 to 30 cases involving sex crimes and child crimes. In this role, she works extensively with multidisciplinary teams including child protective services and family services, while handling significant paperwork and search warrants. Prior to becoming a detective, Jeske served on patrol and was promoted to corporal, a first-line supervisor role that she held for a couple of years. During her time on patrol, she found a passion for the mental health officer field. Jeske entered law enforcement after spending 7 years in a touring metal band, which ended when she was in her late 20s, followed by a year working in dispatch before transitioning to patrol. She advises those entering the field to approach it with the right mindset focused on societal change rather than traditional notions of brotherhood, and she encourages young women to work hard, stay humble, and support other women without viewing the profession as a competition.
