About Amanda
I grew up in Massachusetts and ended up in San Diego through my Navy service, where I served for 6 years. After the Navy, I transitioned into defense contracting, where I've been for over 10 years now. I started at the very bottom as temporary contracted labor - they called us temps back then - and I didn't even have a job here yet. I had to prove myself before I could even work here as a full-time employee. I worked my way up from being a technician to becoming a supervisor for missile launcher overhauls, which I consider my most notable professional achievement. Now I supervise a team of technicians who complete overhauls for missile launchers for the Navy. I've stayed here a little over 10 years because I truly enjoy what I do. I earned my bachelor's degree from San Diego State University and I'm currently working on my master's degree in business at the University of Southern California.
