About Amanda
Amanda Paterson serves as the Computer Science Program Manager for the Workforce Development Council for Idaho, based in Boise. She joined the organization in 2023, following the integration of the STEM Action Center into the council under the Education and Careers Bureau. In this capacity, she focuses on talent pipeline management and collaborates with the State Department of Education, K-12 schools, and colleges to connect industry partners with students through career-connected learning and the LAUNCH program, which provides funding for postsecondary education and career advancement. Prior to her move to Idaho, Paterson spent her career in education and instructional design in Texas, teaching in fast-growth districts including McKinney, Frisco ISD, and Salina ISD. She holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Stephen F. Austin and maintains certifications as a GT and ESL educator along with 3-4 and 5-8 teaching credentials. Her professional efforts emphasize building relationships between educators and industry to prepare students for future careers.
