Her Story

About Amanda

Amanda Pearce is the Founder and CEO of Midwest Horizons Marketing LLC, which she launched in 2022 after recognizing that her clients were choosing to work with her because of the relationships she built—not the company she represented. Determined to create a business that delivered on its promises, she started Midwest Horizons with just $500 and grew it to six figures in revenue within its first six months.

Today, Midwest Horizons Marketing serves businesses across multiple states, providing custom website design, digital marketing, SEO, streaming TV, social media advertising, and AI-powered marketing solutions. Headquartered in Leavenworth, Kansas, the company continues to expand while remaining committed to its mission of helping local businesses grow and strengthening the communities they serve.

Amanda has built a company culture that values flexibility, innovation, and family. With a predominantly female team working remotely across several states, Midwest Horizons empowers its employees to build rewarding careers while maintaining the work-life balance that matters most.

Beyond her business, Amanda is deeply invested in her community. She serves on the Board of Directors for Grow Leavenworth County, is Vice President of the Leavenworth County Historical Society, and actively volunteers with organizations dedicated to economic development, historic preservation, and community growth.

Amanda is passionate about encouraging other women to pursue entrepreneurship. She believes that while building a business requires resilience, long hours, and a willingness to take risks, the opportunity to create something meaningful—for yourself, your family, your employees, and your community—is one of life's greatest rewards.

Ten minutes with Amanda

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, an unwillingness to accept "good enough," and a belief that when you help others succeed, success has a way of finding you too.

I started Midwest Horizons Marketing with just $500 and a vision to prove that small businesses deserve the same level of marketing and technology as large corporations. There were plenty of long days, tough lessons, and moments where quitting would have been easier—but I've never been afraid of hard work. Every obstacle became an opportunity to learn, adapt, and come back stronger.

I've also learned that success isn't something you accomplish alone. I've been fortunate to have incredible people who believed in me, challenged me, and stood beside me—including my husband, Mike, whose support has been invaluable throughout this journey.

Today, success isn't measured by awards, revenue, or the number of clients we serve. It's measured by the businesses we've helped grow, the jobs we've helped create, and the communities we've had the privilege to strengthen. If I can leave every business, organization, and community better than I found it, then I know I've been successful.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received was simple: Be yourself.

It sounds obvious, but it's incredibly powerful. Early in my career, I felt pressure to fit a certain mold or do things the way everyone else did. Once I stopped trying to be someone else and leaned into my own personality, values, and way of building relationships, everything changed.

People don't choose to work with me because I'm trying to be like everyone else—they choose me because they know I'm genuine. I've built my business on honesty, keeping my promises, and treating clients like partners. Being authentic has allowed me to create stronger relationships, build a company I'm proud of, and make a real impact in the communities we serve.

I've learned that your greatest advantage isn't trying to blend in—it's having the confidence to be unapologetically yourself.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do it. Don't wait, don't worry about what people will think, what people will say, how you'll be judged, just do it. Because at the end of the day, it is the best thing for you. Don't hold back. Just go after it. You know, you gotta work hard, and understand you're gonna work hard, and there's gonna be phone calls at dinner, and there's gonna be messages on vacation, and there's gonna be your but it's life-changing, and it's all good. You know, I went from living in a crappy old farmhouse to a half a million dollar home, and drive a brand new vehicle, and You know, you can struggle your whole life and work for somebody else, or you can do it yourself and make a life, not just a living.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in marketing today is how quickly everything changes. Artificial intelligence, search engines, social media platforms, and consumer behavior are evolving almost daily. Businesses that rely on "the way we've always done it" risk being left behind.

At the same time, I believe this is one of the greatest opportunities our industry has ever seen. Technology has leveled the playing field, allowing small businesses to compete with much larger companies when they have the right strategy. AI, automation, and data-driven marketing are making it possible to work smarter, connect with the right audience, and achieve results that were once out of reach for many local businesses.

The key is remembering that while technology will continue to evolve, relationships never go out of style. The businesses that combine innovation with authenticity, exceptional customer service, and a genuine commitment to their communities will continue to thrive.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my work and my personal life are integrity, authenticity, service, and perseverance.

I believe your word is your reputation. If I make a promise, I'm going to do everything I can to keep it. That's the foundation I've built my business on, and it's the same standard I hold myself to in my personal life.

I also believe in being unapologetically myself. Some of my greatest opportunities have come not from trying to fit in, but from embracing who I am and leading with honesty. People connect with people, and authentic relationships will always matter more than a sales pitch.

Service is another core value. Whether I'm helping a small business grow, preserving our local history through the Leavenworth County Historical Society, or supporting economic development through Grow Leavenworth County, I want my work to make a lasting, positive impact. Success means very little if you aren't using it to lift others up.

Finally, perseverance has shaped every chapter of my life. Building a business isn't easy, and neither is life. There will always be setbacks, but I've learned that resilience, hard work, and a willingness to keep moving forward will take you farther than talent alone ever could.
