Amanda Ramirez

I started my IT career almost 8 years ago at Tech Data, taking a leap of faith into a field I knew very little about. I had people skills and customer service experience from working in restaurants, so I figured it was worth the risk to try sales in the IT industry. Before that, I had gone to school for emergency medicine and earned my associate's degree in 2012, but I needed a more stable, sit-down job because I was taking care of family and couldn't handle the unpredictable lifestyle of running to emergency calls. The transition to IT sales worked out well, and I spent my entire IT career in sales until recently. I just made another significant career pivot into a digital creative technology role at Worldwide Technology. Even though I don't have a technical or engineering background, I've self-educated myself to be able to work in this creative technology field, developing digital solutions that help real-life situations. This recent transition is one of my biggest accomplishments because it represents another leap of faith and my commitment to continuous learning and growth.
