Her Story

About Amanda

Amanda Sandoval serves as a Production Underwriter at Coalition, where she has focused on cyber and tech insurance and the broader industry since 2022. She earned her bachelor's degree from Purdue University with a focus in radio and TV broadcasting, which supports her passion for communication and building relationships with brokers. Sandoval attributes her success to her perspective as a first-generation individual who pursued dreams of education, travel, and homeownership. In 2025 she received the Coalition 1% Club Award. She values trust, consistency, and honesty in both her professional and personal life. Outside of work, Sandoval participates in cultural events through Unio Un Benefica Mexicana and advocates for human trafficking prevention through donations and awareness efforts. She advises young women entering the field to embrace AI tools while recognizing the irreplaceable value of human connection and to maintain a sense of self-worth beyond productivity.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Amanda

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think a lot of that comes from being a first-generation individual, and thinking that a lot of what I've been able to accomplish was never possible for me because of who I was born as. Never thought I could travel, never thought I would go to college, you know, never thought I'd own my home. So I think a lot of that just came from dreaming and thinking maybe that's possible someday, and then watching it happen. It manifested in it, and you did it.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Lean into the AI from a perspective that it's not going to take your job, actually it's helping me learn the tools and products faster so I can communicate them to my brokers. The human aspect is never going to change in this industry. I think that human connection is always going to be needed, and that's something that AI cannot replicate. Also just don't put all your value or your worth into your productivity. I made that mistake for years. Your value and your worth outside of your career.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Business email compromise is a huge topic. The challenge there is figuring out how to mitigate the risk.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Trust, consistency, and honesty. That is all I could really ask for, in my personal life and in my career life, I think just asking everybody to be honest and consistent with you, regardless of the day you're having, and trustworthy.
