Her Story
About amanda
I built ASAPP Media Group on one belief: every voice, given the right platform, has the power to change something. I’m a storyteller, a strategist, and a builder — and I show up the same way in every room, whether I’m behind a mic, on a stage, or in a strategy session. My work lives at the intersection of media, community, and purpose. I lead with love and move with intention.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would attribute my success to my kids. I had a car accident 18 months ago, and my kids drove from Louisville to be here before we even got out of the hospital. They started helping me with different things I needed to do when I needed to be away, and I promised I'd visit every week. It was hard going back and forth, but it was well worth it. They are the reason I keep going. I would attribute my success to them because they believed in me, not only by saying so, but by caring for what's most valuable to me, which are my children. They give me the strength to keep pushing forward, even when things get difficult.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say always be true to yourself. Don't overthink it. If you feel like it's something you want to do, make it an idea, make a plan, and then just do it. Enjoy everything that you do with the fullness of your heart. Trust your instincts and don't let fear or doubt hold you back from pursuing what feels right to you.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I'd say the biggest opportunity is to utilize the AI platforms to advance you in your career. I started in this industry using a flip phone and trying to send an email, you know how much it takes to write a sentence with those little keys. But I would say really deciding that AI is not something that's new, it's always been here, it's just a different term. While it seems scary, embrace it, because you can actually use it to your advantage. I think that's a real opportunity. Some challenges I see are us getting in our own way and not collaborating when we should be. Instead of competing, we should be collaborating. There are so many ways that we're alike, more ways than one. If there are things that you can do, I'm pretty certain there are things that I can't do that can complement what you do. I feel like we need to grow past that mentality and evolve as a people, personally, professionally, individually, and collectively.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I feel that all things must be done with intention. I make myself pause for a second before responding or acting to be sure that I'm being intentional and that my actions are reflected properly. Doing all things with intention is what guides me in both my work and personal life. It helps me stay true to myself and make sure that everything I do has meaning and purpose behind it.
