Amanda Stephens is a highly accomplished managing director at StoneTurn, where she leads forensic accounting and dispute litigation efforts with a focus on fraud investigation, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and marital dissolution. With over six years of experience at StoneTurn, Amanda provides expert witness services and forensic investigations for a range of regulatory and compliance issues, including PCAOB, SEC, FCPA, and US GAAP allegations. Her expertise also includes calculating damages in patent infringement and other commercial disputes, as well as recommending improvements to control and process inefficiencies. Amanda is known for her detail-oriented approach, resourcefulness, and intrinsic motivation to solve complex problems.

In addition to her client-facing work, Amanda is an advocate for continuous learning and knowledge-sharing. She served as adjunct faculty at Abilene Christian University, where she designed and facilitated a managerial accounting course for the online undergraduate business program. She holds both a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Abilene Christian University, with minors in Spanish, Sociology, and Public Service. Her educational background, combined with her extensive industry experience, allows Amanda to provide strategic insight that drives success for both her clients and the teams she leads.

Amanda is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Texas and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Her professional certifications, paired with her work in forensic accounting, have cemented her reputation as a trusted advisor in the industry. She is passionate about using her expertise to uncover the truth, improve processes, and help clients navigate complex financial challenges. Outside of work, Amanda is deeply involved in her community and continues to foster her personal and professional growth through various certifications, including her upcoming Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMLS) credential.

I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family, whose encouragement has been a constant source of strength. Additionally, the guidance and wisdom of my mentors have played a crucial role in shaping my growth and achievements.

My advice to young women entering the industry is to cultivate a strong sense of self and confidence. Don’t be afraid to speak up and make your voice heard—asserting your perspective is key to making an impact and advancing in your career.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I face in my field is working in a male-dominated industry where contributions can sometimes be overlooked. However, this also presents an opportunity to break down barriers, challenge norms, and create more visibility for diverse voices and perspectives.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In both my work and personal life, I place a high value on continuous learning, as it allows me to grow and adapt in an ever-changing world. Personal health and fitness are also crucial to me, as they provide the physical and mental well-being needed to perform at my best. Above all, family remains my foundation, offering unwavering support and perspective in all that I do.
