She is also a certified executive coach, a credential that reflects her focus on leadership development and culture strategy in addition to traditional HR functions. Her contributions to the field were recognized with the SHRM Humanity and HR Award, presented in acknowledgment of her work helping executive leadership teams adopt more people-centered decisions, policies, and processes. She maintains active involvement in several professional organizations, including the Women's Chamber of Commerce, SHRM, HRCI, the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce, and A1 Business Builders.
Guided by a strong belief in respect, integrity, and kindness, Dobson approaches her work with a commitment to elevating HR from a purely tactical function into a genuine strategic partnership within organizations. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation of HR professionals, encouraging them to build supportive communities and persevere through the challenges of the field. Reflecting on her own journey, she points to a strong personal support network and an unwillingness to settle for mediocrity as the driving forces behind her achievements, values she continues to bring to her leadership at Clear Pathways People & Culture.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amanda Kathleen
01What do you attribute your success to?
I credit my success to the incredible support system around me, including a wonderful group of individuals and women I can lean on. Beyond that, I attribute it to hard work and refusing to settle for the bare minimum.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I've learned that no one can know everything, so it's important to stay humble rather than overly confident. I make it a point to talk through challenges with others, lean on the people around me, and gather as much information as possible before moving forward. I also remind myself not to let my role in human resources become a source of power over others.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is simple: don't give up. Finding your community is essential, because you'll need that support to get through the difficult days. It takes persistence to push through the challenges, but it is absolutely worth it in the long run.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Our field is at a difficult crossroads, as many organizations still view HR as a purely tactical function rather than a strategic resource. I believe we need to shift that mindset and position HR as a true strategic partner. At the same time, we must stay attuned to how technology is reshaping the workplace and adapt accordingly.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Respect is one of my core values, alongside integrity. Kindness is equally important to me, and I try to carry all three through everything I do, both professionally and personally.
