Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amarachi
01What do you attribute your success to?
For me, I'm a Christian, so first thing is God. Secondly, the foundation I have from my upbringing. Having supportive family, supportive friends, and supportive partners has been one of the greatest gifts to me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've ever received is to ask when something is unclear. Especially in this journey of startup, many of us came in from different backgrounds and were not previous founders of companies. So always ask. Don't just shut your mouth and expect everything to work out for you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
To women entering my industry, I would say just be relentless. Don't see yourself as a minority. Just come and do your work, because women are already succeeding in the industry. Seek mentorship, seek guidance, ask questions, and just go, the sky is your limit.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Initially the challenge was ability to raise enough capital related to risk capital. Another challenge was coming from an engineering background in software engineering and transitioning to build a startup, including knowing how to talk to customers, close deals, and talk to investors.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Communication, specifically the ability to communicate properly both in my work and personal life, is one of the most important values for me.
