Her Story
About Amber
I currently work at the front desk at Ambler Medical, where I check patients in and out and set up appointments. It's a lot more interaction-focused work, and I'm really enjoying being in the healthcare field. I've been with Ambler Medical since March 16th, 2026, in a temporary full-time position that will continue until the end of August, right before I start school. I made a major career change after Motion Composites closed - I jumped fields from manufacturing to healthcare. This has always been something I've wanted to do, but life never really lined up correctly to do it before. I couldn't take the classes just because of financial reasons - I had to bring in a certain amount of dollars to pay bills, and I have little kids. But now that Motion Composites closed, it's been a second opportunity, and everything just seemed to line up perfectly. I took a test to get into an LPN program at our local program, and I start schooling in September. I'm really excited about it and excited to get into the health field. I earned my Associate's degree in Mechanical Technology from Clinton Community College in 2017, and my background includes quality control, problem solving, interaction, blueprint reading, computer knowledge, and mechanical experience.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amber
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my husband - his support and how he pushes me. He tells me that I can do it, and that encouragement has been instrumental in helping me pursue my goals and make this career transition into healthcare.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't let anyone tell you you can't do it. If you want it, set your mind to it and keep going. I've learned this through my own journey - I always wanted to get into healthcare, but life didn't line up correctly for years due to financial reasons and having little kids. But when the opportunity came and everything aligned, I went for it. So my advice is to stay focused on what you want and don't give up, even if the timing isn't perfect right away.
