Her Interview

Ten minutes with Amber

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my family, especially my parents and brother, who instilled in me a strong work ethic, drive, and business mindset. I’m proactive rather than reactive, always looking for ways to improve and address potential challenges before they arise.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to never say, “It’s not my job.” I’ve carried that mindset throughout my career by taking ownership, helping wherever I can, and being willing to handle even the smallest tasks. I believe being dependable and contributing wherever needed makes a meaningful difference.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering the industry to stand confidently behind their knowledge and experience while remaining open to change and new perspectives. Be willing to adapt, but don’t let others undermine or overshadow your expertise. In construction, I learned early on that earning respect requires confidence, flexibility, and the willingness to learn from those around you.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty is one of the most important values in both my personal and professional life. I believe everyone makes mistakes, but what matters is taking ownership, being transparent, and working toward a solution. I strive to approach every situation with accountability and integrity.
