Her Story

About Amber

In my current organization, I’ve spent the last five years leading client experience—a role that has evolved into digital product design and cross-functional strategy. I thrive in environments where I can identify opportunities, prototype solutions, and iterate based on real-world feedback. My day-to-day is intentionally varied; I bridge the gap between high-level strategy and tactical execution, managing everything from website design improvements and marketing collaborations to workshop facilitation and client advocacy.

Ten minutes with Amber

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of environment and partnership. Professionally, I’ve been fortunate to work with leadership teams that truly champion growth and provide the space to expand my skill set. Personally, I have a partner in my husband, Michael, who is my biggest advocate. He has been instrumental in helping me build the foundation to step outside my comfort zone—he consistently encourages me to tackle the challenging, intimidating projects that ultimately drive professional evolution. Having that kind of support, both at work and at home, has been the true catalyst for my growth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

"Why not you"?- My brother, Dalton.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Trust your voice—it is your most powerful tool. Even if you face a ‘no,’ don’t let it stop you; there is always a way to pivot and channel your passions into something productive, no matter the scale. Remember that progress is built on small, consistent steps, and success truly has no age limit. If you feel your identity shifting, let that happen—give yourself permission to evolve and release the pressure to have everything figured out. As long as you stay true to who you are and your core values, you are exactly where you need to be.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Laws and regulations in the world of AI are constantly evolving, and that is a reality we all have to navigate and grow with. Since this technology isn’t going anywhere, the best approach is to stop seeing it as an adversary and start treating it as a partner. However, that partnership comes with a duty: we are each individually responsible for ensuring that our work—and the way we use AI—remains grounded in ethics. It’s about staying curious, staying informed, and taking ownership of how we integrate these tools responsibly.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My core values center on the belief that sustainability—both in my work and personal life—is the foundation of long-term success. I place a high premium on work-life balance and the practice of knowing my own boundaries, which I recognize can shift day to day. For me, self-care and self-regulation aren’t just personal habits; they are essential tools for maintaining clarity and purpose.

That same intentionality extends to my professional philosophy. In an era where technology is rapidly evolving, I believe we have an individual responsibility to ensure our work, especially when integrating AI, remains ethical and human-centered. Ultimately, I value staying true to my morals and integrity, knowing that if I can advocate for myself and my ethics, I can better serve the people I’m designing for.
