Amber Gaskins, MAC, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bright Elevation Solutions, a financial services firm specializing in bookkeeping, payroll, financial consultation, government accounting, and bank reconciliation. Based in Jamestown, North Carolina, Amber leads strategic financial operations for small businesses and organizations, ensuring GAAP compliance, accurate month-end close processes, and dependable financial reporting. She is recognized for her strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insight that supports growth, audit readiness, and operational efficiency.
Amber’s passion for accounting was shaped early by both discipline and curiosity rooted in her love of mathematics, her mother’s background as a math educator, and her father’s business-minded approach to inventory management while serving in the U.S. Navy. Observing the precision, accountability, and systems-driven thinking required in his role instilled in Amber a deep appreciation for structure, organization, and financial control.
She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Morris College and pursued graduate studies in Forensic Accounting at Southern New Hampshire University. With over seven years of experience, Amber has developed a well-rounded background in accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue and project accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and government accounting across both private and public-sector environments.
Beyond technical expertise, Amber is deeply committed to education, mentorship, and empowerment. She actively supports small business owners through financial literacy and consultation, mentors professionals within her field, and embraces teaching in many forms whether through financial education or line dancing instruction as a pathway to confidence and growth. An active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Amber engages in community outreach and leadership initiatives. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys travel, fitness, and cultural exploration, recently returning from Thailand. Through her leadership, discipline, and service-oriented mindset, Amber continues to simplify complex financial concepts, elevate others, and create meaningful, lasting impact in both business and community spaces.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
To young women entering the accounting and finance field: keep going, even when the path feels demanding. Stay organized, stay curious, and never underestimate the power of continuous learning. Seek out mentors, learn from every experience, and trust that each challenge is preparing you for greater leadership. Know when you’ve outgrown a place, and don’t be afraid to move on no job defines your worth, and the right opportunity is always waiting for someone with your skills. As I always say, “Confidence grows from action, knowledge, and the courage to keep moving forward your expertise can change the world.”
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the most significant challenges in accounting today is navigating a rapidly evolving systems landscape, from integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence to addressing the complexities of cryptocurrency transactions. Yet these same shifts create powerful opportunities to innovate, streamline processes, and elevate how accounting professionals deliver accurate, strategic, and insight-driven financial guidance.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
One of the values I hold most dear in both my work and personal life is teaching. I am passionate about helping smaller companies understand and manage their accounting effectively, empowering them to make informed decisions and achieve long-term success.
