Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of hands-on experience, persistence, and a commitment to continuous learning. Beginning my career at the foundational level as a file clerk and paralegal gave me a practical understanding of the legal field and built a strong work ethic that has stayed with me throughout my career. Over time, I remained focused on growth, consistently seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge and take on greater responsibility. My resilience in navigating challenges, paired with a deep interest in justice and advocacy, has helped me stay grounded and motivated while advancing into increasingly complex and impactful roles.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from family members who consistently encouraged me to consider a career in law, recognizing qualities in me that they believed aligned well with the profession. Their confidence and perspective helped guide me toward pursuing a legal path and gave me the reassurance to take that first step. That early encouragement played a meaningful role in shaping my career direction and ultimately led me into a field where I’ve been able to build a strong foundation, grow professionally, and find long-term purpose in my work.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to be intentional about setting and protecting your boundaries early, because the demands of the work can easily lead to burnout if you are not careful. Prioritizing self-care is not optional—it is essential to sustaining long-term success and showing up at your best professionally. I would also encourage staying curious and committed to continuous learning, especially as technology, including AI, continues to rapidly reshape the healthcare and legal landscapes. Just as importantly, invest in building and maintaining a strong professional network, and make it a habit to actively refresh those connections over time, as relationships often become one of the most valuable sources of growth, opportunity, and support throughout your career.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge and opportunity in my field is the rapid acceleration of AI within an already complex healthcare regulatory environment. This creates increased demands around privacy, governance, and compliance, while also offering meaningful potential to improve care delivery and operational efficiency. Adapting to evolving value-based care models further adds complexity, requiring organizations to balance innovation with strict regulatory and patient safety obligations.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life center on delivering safe, high-quality care to patients and ensuring that every decision I support ultimately contributes to that goal. I place a strong emphasis on integrity in how I approach legal and ethical responsibilities, as well as a commitment to continuous learning in order to stay effective in a rapidly evolving industry. Equally important is maintaining balance through protected downtime and physical activity, which allows me to remain focused, resilient, and fully present in both my professional responsibilities and personal life.
