Her Story

About Amber

Amber Kusick is a Sous Chef at Aramark specializing in culinary services within the sports and entertainment sector. She brings approximately 13 years of experience in the culinary field and has built her second career around her longstanding passion for cooking. Her work encompasses culinary operations, food preparation, catering, and hospitality, with an emphasis on delivering quality food and experiences within the sports and entertainment environment.

Before entering the culinary profession, Kusick spent approximately 20 years working in healthcare. Driven by her love of cooking, she made a significant career transition and pursued culinary education before advancing into the industry. During her culinary career, she developed valuable catering experience and benefited from the mentorship of Lachelle, who helped her learn the operational and business aspects of catering while also supporting her own culinary development. Kusick continues to draw on that mentorship through volunteer work in a community-based culinary program.

Kusick attributes her professional success to hard work and dedication to her craft. She believes that learning should remain a lifelong process and encourages aspiring chefs to keep an open mind, avoid assuming they have mastered everything, and remain willing to learn from people at every experience level. Her career journey demonstrates the value of following a longstanding passion, embracing a new professional direction, and continuing to develop skills through hands-on experience, mentorship, and service to the community.
