About Ambre
Ambre VailesMacarie is a marketing professional specializing in the food industry. With three years of experience, she began her career at a small catering company in Chinatown, where she handled content creation, website maintenance, and CRM systems. She later joined Restaurant Associates at Jane Street, focusing on experiential marketing, and now seeks to transition into a more digital marketing role while advancing campaigns that address sustainability and reach historically underrepresented groups. Ambre attributes her self-belief and resilience to her upbringing, having been homeschooled with a culturally diverse background and raised around boys, which fostered her determination to pursue opportunities even when pathways were not obvious. She values obsession as a driver of dedication in both her professional and personal life.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ambre
01What do you attribute your success to?
I was homeschooled until I was [AGE]. My mom is Black from DC, my dad is French from just outside of Paris. Growing up around a lot of boys gave me this mark where I am blatantly self-believing. I just have to figure out how it can be done. My parents had a huge influence but growing up with boys made it easy to think why not even if the pathway wasn't obvious.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For any industry but especially food and marketing, resilience is key, not taking things personally and keeping in stride towards goals. Specifically for marketing, have your own voice and perspective. Learn how to market and tell our own stories to get in the rooms we want to be in.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Obsession. I bring a lot of obsession to my work and personal life. There are things that require that level of attention and focus and interest. Obsession brings across the actual interest and dedication.
