Her Story

About Amelia

Amelia Chen is a Customer Success professional at Senteon Managed Endpoint Hardening based in San Jose, California. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and brings a multidisciplinary background that blends technical expertise with customer-facing experience. Early in her career, she explored software and web development through contract work while also gaining hands-on operational and customer engagement experience as a store manager in the floral industry. This combination of technical and interpersonal exposure has shaped her approach to understanding both systems and the people who use them.

In her current role, Amelia is part of a newly established Customer Success function where she plays a key role in developing foundational processes and customer engagement strategies. Her responsibilities include re-engaging long-term clients, conducting needs assessments, and refining workflows that support customer satisfaction and retention. She leverages her background in computer science and relationship management to bridge communication between technical teams and customers, ensuring alignment between product capabilities and client needs.

Amelia’s professional approach is grounded in mentorship, collaboration, and relationship-building. She credits her growth to strong mentoring relationships and emphasizes the importance of confidence in navigating early-career challenges. Passionate about learning and continuous development, she is focused on expanding her impact within customer success by helping organizations build scalable, human-centered support systems that strengthen both operational efficiency and customer outcomes.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Amelia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success largely to mentorship relationships that have supported me throughout my journey. These relationships helped me grow by allowing me to better understand different perspectives and mirror the needs and mindset of the people I work with. Over time, this became a natural strength that I’ve since learned to structure and apply more intentionally in my professional development.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to always be confident. Even when you feel like there isn’t a clear foundation for that confidence, it’s important to project the energy and presence you need in order to grow into the role and situation you’re stepping into.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to build strong mentorship relationships and stay open to learning across different experiences. Confidence is key—even if you are still developing your skills, showing up with assurance helps you grow into your potential. Embracing both technical and people-focused experiences can also open unexpected and valuable career paths.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field is working within a newly formed Customer Success function, where there is space to build foundational processes from the ground up. This includes identifying ways to reconnect with long-time customers, understanding their needs, and developing structured workflows that ensure long-term customer success and retention.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me are mentorship, relationship-building, confidence, collaboration, and continuous personal growth. I place a strong emphasis on understanding people and creating meaningful connections, both in professional and personal contexts.
