Amelie Kraus

Amelie Kraus is a dedicated attorney and mediator with 26 years of experience in family and matrimonial law. She is the founder of her own firm in New York City and Westchester, where she handles a combination of mediation and litigation matters. Her career began with an internship at a shelter for victims of domestic violence, leading to law school and a role as staff attorney at Sanctuary for Families. She later worked as an associate at a matrimonial firm before starting her own practice after the birth of her first child. She built the firm by adding partners but later shifted focus to mediation, which she finds leads clients to a more peaceful resolution. She continues to represent clients on a sliding scale, from multi-millionaires to working class and immigrants. She is a member of Impact 100 Westchester, where she served as co-president for two years and led many committees, and she recently joined Impact 100 New York City after moving to Manhattan. Kraus received her JD in 1999 and remains committed to helping clients navigate to a better place beyond the immediate challenges of divorce.
