Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith and the support of my family, which continue to guide, motivate, and inspire me in both my personal and professional life.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to put my big-girl panties on, stand firm, and remain fair and consistent in every situation.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women entering my industry to stay true to themselves, maintain the human element of their work, and prioritize self-care along the way.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in HR right now is balancing the needs of the organization with the very real needs of its people. Employees expect transparency, flexibility, meaningful work, competitive compensation, and leaders who genuinely know how to lead. At the same time, organizations are navigating rising costs, workforce shortages, compliance demands, and constant change.
I also believe this creates one of HR’s greatest opportunities. HR has evolved far beyond policies, payroll, and putting out fires. We now have the opportunity to use data, technology, and AI to make better decisions while still keeping the “human” in Human Resources. The organizations that get that balance right, using innovation without losing empathy, will be the ones that build workplaces where both people and the business can thrive.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, respect, integrity, and consideration are the values that guide me in both my work and personal life. I strive to treat others with respect, act with integrity, and lead with faith and thoughtfulness.
