About Amira
Amira is the founder and owner of Amira Photography, an independent creative business established in 2023 after more than two decades of pursuing photography as a passion and hobby since 2003. What began as a love for capturing meaningful moments has grown into a full-service creative brand offering photography, videography, and photo booth experiences for individuals, families, businesses, artists, special events & more.
Based in the DFW area and available to travel globally, Amira brings a storytelling approach to every project, focusing on authentic moments, genuine connections, and images that allow people to relive their memories for years to come. Through Captured Moments Co., she has also expanded into the photo booth space, creating interactive experiences designed to bring people together and make celebrations even more memorable.
Amira holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management, an accomplishment that played an important role in shaping her approach to entrepreneurship. As the owner of an independent business, she manages nearly every aspect of her brand, from finances, marketing, branding, contracts, client relationships, and business development to equipment, creative direction, and day-to-day operations.
Since launching Amira Photography, she has continued to grow her presence organically, building a community of more than 2.3K Instagram followers through consistency, creativity, hands-on experience, and a strong commitment to her clients. Her growth has come from continuously practicing her craft, learning from every experience, taking calculated risks, and staying committed to providing professional, personalized service.
Amira's journey has not always been easy. She has navigated financial and economic pressures, business challenges, and situations that tested her confidence and reputation. Rather than allowing those experiences to define her, she has used them as opportunities to become stronger, wiser, and more intentional about the person and entrepreneur she wants to be. She believes that setbacks can become lessons, and that success is built through patience, resilience, and the willingness to keep moving forward.
She credits her journey to faith, perseverance, continuous learning, time management, following her passion, taking risks, and the people who believed in her when she was still building her vision. Her experiences have reinforced the values she brings into both her professional and personal life: integrity, professionalism, respect, authenticity, accountability, and continuous growth.
For aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals, especially young women, Amira's advice is simple: be yourself, know your worth, and don't let someone else's timeline make you question your own. Invest in your education and skills, find mentors and people who genuinely want to see you succeed, take opportunities that challenge you, and don't be afraid to start small. Most importantly, surround yourself with people who encourage your growth rather than diminish it.
Amira's story is ultimately about more than photography. It is about turning a longtime passion into a purpose, taking chances on yourself, learning through adversity, and continuing to build something meaningful, one moment, one opportunity, and one captured memory at a time.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amira
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to faith, perseverance, continuous learning, and the support of people who believed in me. Building my career required taking risks, learning from challenges, and continuing to move forward despite ups and downs, jealousy from others, and attempts to ruin my reputation. Time management and following my passion have been key, along with staying true to my values and hard work.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to put your heart into what you do, give it all you can, invest in yourself, continue learning, know your value, and don't be afraid to pursue opportunities that challenge you. Practice to get better and don't hold yourself back due to lack of experience or confidence.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to younger women would be to believe in yourself and don't be afraid to take up space. You don't have to have your entire life or career figured out right away. Give yourself permission to explore, make mistakes, learn, and grow.
Invest in your education, your skills, and your personal development. Learn how to advocate for yourself and know your worth, both personally and professionally. Don't be afraid to ask questions, seek mentors, and surround yourself with people who genuinely want to see you succeed.
Most importantly, don't compare your journey to someone else's. Everyone's timeline is different. Focus on becoming the best version of yourself, stay consistent, and don't give up when things don't happen as quickly as you hoped. Sometimes the challenges you face along the way are what prepare you for the opportunities you're working toward.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is building and managing an independent business while handling so many responsibilities behind the scenes. As a small-business owner, I’m responsible for much more than the creative side of photography. I also manage finances, marketing, branding, contracts, client relationships, equipment, scheduling, and overall business operations. Balancing all of these responsibilities while continuing to deliver quality work can be challenging, especially in a constantly changing economy where businesses and clients are becoming more mindful of their spending.
At the same time, I see these challenges as opportunities for growth. Every obstacle has pushed me to become more resourceful, improve my business skills, learn continuously, and find new ways to adapt. Expanding from photography into videography and now a photo booth business has also allowed me to diversify my services and reach new audiences. I believe the ability to keep learning, adapting, and taking calculated risks is one of the greatest opportunities an entrepreneur can have.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, professionalism, respect, and continuous growth. I believe in being honest, treating others with kindness and respect, and following through on the commitments I make. Respect is especially important to me because I believe the way you treat others often reflects the way they will treat you in return.
I also value continuous learning and personal growth. There is always an opportunity to learn something new, improve your skills, challenge yourself, and become a better version of who you were yesterday. These values guide how I approach my work, my relationships, and the goals I set for myself.
